Solar Water Pumps

A solar-powered pump is a pump running on electricity generated by photovoltaic panels or the thermal energy available from collected sunlight as opposed to grid electricity or diesel run water pumps.

A solar water pump has a mini power house at its heart and consists of a calibrated and matching solar array of modules – tuned with the equivalent power of pump for that particular application. The solar water pumping system is capable of running all types of electrical water pumps with applications varying from irrigation to household demands. Irrigation pumps such as submersible, surface or deep well can also be coupled with drip irrigation systems to enhance the returns from this configuration. A typical solar water pumping system is known by the sum total of solar array size that is required to run the attached pump. A 1000 Wp solar water pump is capable of drawing and pumping approximately 40,000 litres of water per day from a source that is up to 10 meters deep. This is sufficient to irrigate about 2 acres of land with regular crops. A 1000 Wp solar water pump helps save up to Rs 45,000 when compared to equivalent use of a diesel-operated pump over a year.

The well pump makes it possible to offer sufficient and constant water supply to the populations of remote, rural areas.

Therefore, self-sufficiency is achieved for the people who have access to the vital elixir of life: water. This leads to a better life and a more promising future. With the Aid for Self-help a better and more promising life can be assured.

System Components: water well, PV array, array mounting bracket and rack, pump controller, electrical ground for controller, DC pump with safety ropes, mount, and well seal, wiring, discharge tubing or piping, storage tank, tank flotation switch, water taps or access points, security

Usages of Solar Water Pumps

Irrigation: Solar Pump Systems can be also used for the water supply in remote and dry regions suffering fromwater shortage. It enables irrigation to create fertile land, allow livestock breeding and the cultivation of grain in regionswhich would be infertile without water.
Drinking Water &  Salt Water: Solar Pump Systems can be specially designed to deliver drinking water from deep wells as well as to pumping salt water out of confined ground water wells in saliniferous regions.

Benefits of Solar Water Pumps

They can pump 1000’s of litres of water every day

The system serves 10 times more  than a hand pump

Excess capacity can be stored in an elevated tank

Low maintenance costs,No fuel costs & Easy to install

Simple and reliable&No operator required

Can pump to elevated storage tanks, High flow output

Zero carbon emissions and 20 year life

Our pump works best when the sun is shining, this is when crops require the most water

A 150 Watt solar module can irrigate over 1000m² (¼ acre)
